Principal's Message

Dear Greenon Elementary parents and community members,

As the new principal at Greenon Elementary, I am very excited to welcome everyone to the upcoming school year at the new Greenon Elementary. I cannot tell you how excited I am to see this beautiful building being filled with successful students, showing happiness and enthusiasm. My goal is to have every child feeling welcomed, connected and a part of the Greenon Elementary family. Additionally, we will strive to have our students become independent, responsible and lifelong learners as they progress in the classroom and in society. The new building will go a long way in aiding the development of these goals.

Since I am new to the district, I would like to introduce myself and my family, as well as share the educational path that has ultimately brought me to Greenon. I am originally from New Palestine, Indiana, a suburb on the eastside of Indianapolis. I went to Grace College to study Elementary Education and play baseball. While at Grace, I met my wife, Chelsey, and we were married in 2011. We have three children: Shayla who is a second grader, Emery who is beginning kindergarten and Boston who is two. Being a dad and husband is my greatest joy. I love being able to spend time with my family and enjoy how each of my children has started to develop a love for athletics that matches mine. While athletics is one of my favorite hobbies (watching or playing), I also enjoy woodworking and building projects. My educational career began at Salem Christian Academy where I taught 5th and 6th grades for two years, followed by 7 years at Concord Elementary, Troy City schools, teaching 3rd grade. In the spring of 2020, I graduated from Miami University with my Masters in Educational Leadership, allowing me to transition to administration. Working as a K-4 assistant principal at Greenville Elementary last year helped prepare me for this new job opportunity at Greenon.

I am truly honored to serve as the first principal at Greenon Elementary. It is a privilege to be a part of a community where community members, parents, students and teachers care for each other and strive to build relationships that support growth, both academically and socially!

Once again, welcome back! Let’s make this first year at Greenon Elementary a fantastic one together.
